*Lying Down Meditations: A Relaxation Qigong Mini-Workshop with Martha Hurwitz
$16 | preregistration requested

Tuesday,  2:00pm - 3:30pm  Aug 4th,  register by August 3
Known as Qigong Nap and loved by all, these meditations are easy to fit into your day and easy to practice, especially for people with physical limitations or the need for healing. The forms are a powerful way to gather fresh qi into your body, clear your channels of blockages, and expel used, unneeded qi.
This short workshop includes a full practice of both meditations--you'll leave feeling rested, cleansed and replenished. Appropriate for those who've never learned qigong, those who intend to start in the fall, and those who've learned all or part of the Soaring Crane Qigong material

*The Promise of Prevention: A Cancer in Three Stories
a presentation written by Martha Hurwitz
Friday, October 9 | 6:00pm – 8:30pm
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the 6th mammaversary of her breast cancer diagnosis, Two Dog will host a screening of a presentation Martha wrote post-treatment and delivered a number of times around town. Packed with information about the environmental, physiological and emotional causes—and antidotes—of disease, Martha structured the presentation in a personal narrative, hoping her story of finding health would help others realize their own. The evening features the 2-hour screening of the presentation, addendums to the original material and a special focus on qigong as her personal route to healing. Information handouts, resource materials and lots of time for questions round out the evening. Proceeds support the Qigong Scholarship Fund at Two Dog.

Qi is considered both the source of creativity within us, and a tool for accessing that source. In this four-part workshop, we'll use movements, meditations and other qigong forms to get our qi flowing. Then we'll allow that flow to influence creative or reflective endeavors of your choosing--journaling, sketching, painting, dancing, meditation, to name a few. Participants will learn ways to connect with their own inspirational source and tools for diminishing blockages of all kinds--the key behind qi flow. Appropriate for creative and reflective people of all pursuits, persuasions and abilities. Experience with welcome but not necessary.

*The Edge of Intimacy: A playful exploration of relationship
with Laurie Riepe and Annie Stocker
Saturday, October 24th time and cost TBA

Join us in this couples' workshop for a playful exploration of relationship.

Intimacy is the work of staying open while connecting with another human being -- having a strong sense of self while being fully vulnerable. This workshop is an opportunity to take your practice, Yoga, Qigong, or life into the realm of relationship with your beloved.  We will start on our own yoga mats and begin by using the concept of mindfulness to develop our awareness of self. From there we will open into an evening of creative play using partner yoga and spoken word, featuring poems for two voices to explore notions of deep dialogue.
