Wendy Groesbeck’s relationship with yoga and Two Dog Studio serendipitously brought her full circle and home: full circle, to a reunion with her love of teaching; home, to her first real connection with her body. She has proudly been part of the Two Dog Yoga teaching staff since 1997.

After many years as an environmental educator in Michigan and Minnesota, Wendy embarked upon a richly rewarding exploration of various other paths and places around the world. Eventually settling in the Northwest, she soon satisfied her long held curiosity about yoga and attended her first class at the age of 32. Her curiosity has evolved into an enduring practice and study, which she finds endlessly intriguing and nourishing. After years as a yoga student, she was absolutely delighted and honored when Annie offered her the opportunity to teach at Two Dog. Her “inner teacher” that was long dormant once again began to emerge and blossom.

Wendy has an approachable, down to earth style that allows me to relate to many concepts and philosophies of yoga with depth and understanding. She puts thought, energy and creativity into each class. The class is consistently the highlight of my week.
— K.K., speech-language pathologist, native Wisconsonian

Always looking for fresh perspectives, she continues to study with a wonderful array of local and nationally acclaimed teachers. She is deeply grateful for the teachings she has received from Annie Stocker, Sarahjoy Marsh, Donald Moyer, Denise Benitez, Doug Keller and her students. It is a blending of these teachings that inform, inspire and guide her yoga journey and classes.

During Wendy’s classes, thoughtful sequencing and mindfully paced movement offer each student a safe place to explore and expand into their own yoga. Her deep fascination of anatomy, respect for alignment, attraction to yoga philosophy and mythology, and sense of humor are woven throughout each practice. Awakening the inner body through breath awareness and personal intention also assist in each student’s unique unfolding. She believes that our yoga practice is a reflection of who we are and how we relate to ourselves and the world around us, offering us invaluable tools to understand and experience our days more fully. She invites students of all levels to enjoy the fullness of this journey with her.

I think one of the most difficult aspects of teaching yoga would be to successfully mix the esoteric and the practical aspects of this study, and Wendy does this seamlessly.
