Yoga

Two Doga Yoga Studio is like a home studio combined with a healing community that honors the body and life. The classes are intimate, even if they are large; the teachers are dedicated, highly skilled and enthusiastic. I have studied there for at least 10 years now and have developed a broad network of friends and colleagues from the yoga classes, qigong classes, and seasonal events. Annie Stocker is a strong community organizer and stabilizing gift to our Seattle community.

Annie Stocker opened Two Dog Yoga in 1990, teaching Hatha Yoga classes in her beautiful home studio. Annie’s two chocolate labs, Ponder and Willow, graced the studio with their enthusiasm and namesake. Beloved for its garden setting and intimate treehouse feel, classes swelled with eager students from around the neighborhood.

By 2001, having outgrown “Little Dog” studio, Annie ventured into the construction of a larger space—“Big Dog”—three blocks away. With both studios and a lively clientele, Annie settled into her vision of an active, neighborhood community studio focused on healing and well-being. The studio expanded its offerings to include meditation, global music events, massage, Hellerwork, couples massage and seasonal celebrations.

Wanting to expand its offerings with additional spiritual- and health-based practices, Two Dog opened its doors to Soaring Crane Qigong in 2007. Accessible to the full range of physical abilities, the qigong classes and workshops at Two Dog complement the studio's yoga offerings. The family of forms at the studio reflects the variety of Two Dog students who share a focus on personal cultivation and enhanced health for the self and world.

Two Dog is planted firmly in the heart of Lake City, a rich and expanding neighborhood in northeast Seattle. Over the years, Two Dog has been pleased to see the area grow both in resources and opportunities. During summer months, the studio's neighboring park overflows with vendors and local shoppers at the Lake City Farmer's Market.
